I stayed at Hôtel Pont Royal recently, mainly because of its connection with the literary world, and I loved it.
It first opened its doors in the early 20th century and quickly became a favored haunt of writers and artists, including Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, and Pablo Picasso, who were drawn to its elegant ambience and the vibrant Saint-Germain-des-Prés district. This period was a golden age for the hotel, as it became the hub for artistic and intellectual exchange.
The hotel’s cocktail bar, the first of its kind in the capital, embraced the art of mixology inspired by its American clientele, attracting literary giants and avant-garde artists from around the world.
