Ready to learn some French phrases for July?

The month of June is filled with possibilities of the summer that lies ahead. 

Those long, drawn-out evenings where you eat late and watch the sunset. The fields of sunflowers, time spent in the pool and lunch on the terrace.

For those visiting France, there’s the day trips, wine tasting and wine tours and time spent looking at French chateaux. 

And, of course, all the fabulous music festivals and events taking place throughout the summer months.

For me, this is when my part of rural France comes into its own. Our neighbours often stop by after work for a quick beer and a chat, Claud, the local farmer, is forever dropping off fruit and veg he has grown, and our life is lived outside.

June is the month we celebrate Mums and Dads in France

Mother’s Day is June 4th, and Father’s Day is June 18th, so it’s all about family in June. And, of course, the best way to do that is with food. After all, the French love to eat, drink and spend time with family.

If you love the idea of motor racing then head to Le Mans where le 24 Heures du Mans Grand Prix is held on June 10-11.

For music lovers the Paris Jazz Festival starts on June 29th where they host free concerts throughout the summer in the Parc Floral.

And on June 21st, we have Fete de la Musique, world music day, always celebrated on the longest day of the year.
