Strasbourg is the capital of Christmas and a great base for exploring Alsace’s Christmas markets, with plenty to see. But if you want to know where to stay in Strasbourg, my top pick is Hotel de la Cour du Corbeau, where I stayed on my first visit.

It’s closely followed by Hotel Léonor for its amazing pastries, and Hotel and Spa Régent Petite France, in the prettiest part of Strasbourg, with a wonderful spa for a bit of R&R if your feet are sore after walking around all the Christmas markets.

⚠️ REMEMBER, December is one of the busiest months in Strasbourg, so don’t leave it to the last minute to book your hotel for the Christmas Markets, as you’re likely to be disappointed.

Originally a row of medieval houses, Hotel Cour du Corbeau was later transformed into a hotel, preserving its historic charm. 

Just a few short steps from the Gothic Strasbourg Cathedral, it is perfectly located for the Christmas Markets.

Plus, it has an enviable list of famous guests, including Mozart, Frederic the Great, and the King of Prussia. You never know which one of them may have slept in the very room you’ll be sleeping in.

The hotel also has a Michelin-starred restaurant, where you can indulge in an Alsatian gastronomic journey.

It really depends, but I would recommend 2-3 days. But if you want to see some of the other markets in Alsace, such as Colmar, which isn’t far from Strasbourg, I’d say 4-5 days.

I’d avoid going just before Christmas, as this is when the market is at its busiest. The Strasbourg Christmas market starts in the last week of November, so that’s a good time to go, as well as the first week in December.
