Move Over, Emily in Paris, White Lotus is Coming to France For Its Next Season, the Question is Where?

If you love the show White Lotus and have been hooked by the gorgeous locations, then season 4 won’t disappoint. The big question on everyone’s lips is where in France.

The team at HBO is keeping its lips sealed, and the only hint we have lies in the hotel, as the show has a marketing partnership with the luxury brand of Four Seasons Hotels, which helps us narrow things down a little.

And then there’s the matter of culture. The French stereotype of fashion-forward women on every street delicately sipping their café au lait with a croissant on the side, Emily in Paris style, is so overdone. Let’s hope the show moves past all the glossy clichés.

The show is famous for mixing luxury settings with darkly funny storylines, and France offers a backdrop that can go far beyond polished café scenes. But which corner of the country will play host to the new cast of characters?

The Three Possible Locations for White Lotus Season Four

If we go with the fact that there are only three Four Seasons Hotels in France, it gives us four potential locations for the next season when the White Lotus is coming to France: Paris, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat on the French Riviera, and Megève in the French Alps. 

The show has also spread its storyline across more than one resort. Season 3 in Thailand is a good example, with the Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui taking center stage while three other hotels outside the group also made the cut.

The French Riviera would fit neatly with the pattern set by the first three seasons. Hawaii, Italy, and most recently Thailand all featured luxury beach resorts, so a glamorous stretch of Mediterranean coastline would be right in line with that tradition.

Plus, Paris has been done so many times, most recently with Emily in Paris; it would be nice to see a different part of France. My vote goes to Megève for something completely different, but I’ll let you make your own choice.

No. 1 Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat

Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat sits on a peninsula between Nice and Monaco, right on the glittering Côte d’Azur. Once a quiet fishing village, it transformed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries into a playground for European royalty and wealthy visitors, who built grand villas overlooking the sea.

Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat

Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, not to be confused with the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, sits on the Cap Ferrat peninsula near the town of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. The area is known for its grand Belle Époque villas, once home to the Rothschilds and Belgian royals.

The hotel has a fascinating history. It was first built in the early 1900s by the son of a carriage maker, then passed to a wealthy widow before being bought by two hoteliers in 1922. After closing during World War II, it reopened to welcome a guest list that included Picasso and Winston Churchill.

While Fitzgerald set Tender Is the Night at the Eden-Roc down the coast, The White Lotus could now turn the spotlight on Cap Ferrat’s other historic hotel.

No. 2 Paris

Paris, the French capital, has often been ranked as the most visited city in the world. Beyond the usual sights, it hides plenty of quirks. The city once had a guillotine permanently on display until the late 19th century, and underneath the streets lie more than 200 miles of catacombs filled with the bones of six million people. 

Hotel George V

The Hotel George V could make for an intriguing pick since The White Lotus has yet to plant itself in a city setting. Paris offers no shortage of luxury, and this Art Deco landmark has been part of that story since it first opened its doors in 1928. Built just off the Champs-Élysées, it quickly became known as a gathering place for royalty, Hollywood stars, and world leaders.

During World War II, the hotel was taken over by the German military, and later the U.S. Army used it as its headquarters after the liberation of Paris. In the years that followed, it regained its reputation as one of the capital’s finest addresses. Today it’s run by Four Seasons, with a Jean-Georges Vongerichten restaurant that holds Michelin stars and rooms that start around $3,000 a night.

It’s a setting layered with history and spectacle, which would bring something very different to the show compared to the resort-style seasons we’ve seen so far.

No. 3 Megève

Megève is a ski resort in the French Alps, created in the 1920s as an answer to Switzerland’s glitzy St. Moritz. It quickly became a favorite of the Rothschild family, who helped put it on the map. Today, it’s known not only for world-class skiing but also for its Michelin-starred dining and mountain village atmosphere.

Four Seasons in Megève

A winter version of The White Lotus could be on the cards if filming takes place at the Four Seasons in Megève. Perched on Mont d’Arbois, it’s the only true ski-in, ski-out hotel in the area, giving guests direct access to the slopes above the village. The story behind it is tied to the Rothschild family, who helped put Megève on the map as a rival to Switzerland’s St. Moritz in the 1920s.

The hotel itself began as the chalet of Edmond de Rothschild, who transformed the mountain into an exclusive playground for Europe’s elite. Over the years, it became part of a larger vision for Mont d’Arbois, with golf courses, ski lifts, and fine dining all developed under the Rothschild name. Today, the Four Seasons carries on that legacy with its blend of Alpine tradition and high-end luxury.

For the series, it would mark a dramatic change in backdrop. Instead of palm trees and infinity pools, think roaring fires, snowy peaks, and the social politics of a ski resort where everyone is competing for attention both on and off the slopes.
